.Welcome back and Happy December! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. It was so much fun this morning to hear about everyone's amazing vacations. Students will be able to purchase small gifts for friends and family for the holidays. - Just a reminder - this week is NOT a library checkout week. Our next library checkout day will be next Wednesday, December 11th. - This week I will begin assessing students Middle of Year Reading levels. Once I have assessed all students, I will be sending home updates to let you know how much your child has progressed! I am so impressed with how well these kiddos are reading :) - December newsletters will be going home as well as the letter and rubric for our upcoming Holiday Traditions Project. Please see below for digital copies of these two forms. - Have students practice reading and spelling our sight words this week: they, why, little, give - Please remember to send your child to school with appropriate clothing for this cooler winter weather. We do go outside for recess each day and I want to make sure all of the students have a warm enough coat or jacket to go outside. As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great week! -Ms. Schiavone

Please make sure to send your child to school with their library book so that they may check out a new one! - We will be visiting the Book Fair for ONLY a preview on Monday, November 18th. This will also be a great opportunity for you to purchase books with your child. Instructions for using this payment method are in the Eagle Alliance newsletter or on the Eagle Alliance website. - This week, our class is taking a formative assessment which deals with comparing numbers. Greater than >, less than <, and equal to =. - Please practice reading and writing our sight words : when, get, go, that. You can write them in shaving cream, sidewalk chalk, or practice using them in sentences using capital letters at the beginning, finger spaces between words, and a period at the end. - Don't forget, students can use iRead, iReady Math, or RAZ Kids at home for extra practice. - A note from Coach K: Please remember your P.E. days are Thursday and Friday.
